Organising and Documenting Research Data
This workshop will educate researchers on best practices for organising and documenting their data at all stages of the research data life cycle and provide researchers the opportunity to put it into practice. It is best suited for researchers at the early stage of their research project to embed best practices early on, but is suitable for researchers at any stage of their research project. Learning outcomes include methods for organizing and versioning research data, overview of metadata for data description, and best practices for documenting data in adherence to FAIR principles and open research.
The first half of this workshop will take researchers through best practices and examples of methods for data organisation and documentation followed by a short break. The second half will be discussion based, identifying each researcher's opportunity for improving their research data management through the methods presented in the first half. Researchers may also use this portion of the workshop to implement methods into practice on their own research data.
