Direct Provision Through the Eyes of University of Galway Students: A Virtual Reality Experience In-Person
Step into the lives of students living in Direct Provision in Ireland in this immersive virtual reality documentary. The documentary consists of two ten-minute videos which can be viewed on a VR headset.
You'll hear the story of one of two students studying at University of Galway who are living in Direct Provision. They describe why they left their homes, how they came to Ireland, and their hopes for the future. Overlaying the narrative are scenes of the Direct Provision Centre in which they live and footage from their daily lives, captured by the students themselves, inviting the viewer to consider what it means to live in Direct Provision in Ireland.
Videos are ten minutes in length and viewings begin every fifteen minutes. Please arrive at least five minutes early for your reserved viewing time.
